Easy Dinner Rolls

One of the worst things about being gluten free is giving up rolls and bread. After 6 years of being gluten free, I’ve finally come up with an easy and delicious dinner roll recipe. These are light, fluffy, and perfect! It has been trying lots of different recipes and modifying and trying different ingredient combinations to get to this.

They are so yummy, I bet people won’t even know they are gluten free!!!

The secret to this is using King Arthur brand gluten free bread flour. It has wheat starch in it so it has more of a normal, fluffy gluten-filled bread texture. Be cautious if you are allergic to wheat. This won’t work for you. It contains wheat, but not gluten. Here is a picture of the bag.

These are made in a muffin tin and only require about 45 minutes to an hour to rise before baking. It truly is so easy!!

Dry Ingredients:

-3 cups King Arthur Gluten-Free Bread Flour
-3 tablespoons granulated sugar
-1 packet (approximately 2¼ teaspoons)instant yeast
-1 1/2 teaspoons salt

-1 teaspoon baking powder

Wet Ingredients:

-1 1/2 cups warm water (approximately 105-110 degrees Fahrenheit)

-1/4 cup full fat sour cream
-2 large eggs
-1/4 cup melted butter

For topping:
-2 to 3 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions:

  1. Grease a 12 count muffin pan.
  2. In the bowl of a stand mixer with a paddle attachment (or a mixing bowl to use a hand mixer), combine gluten free bread flour, sugar, yeast, salt, and baking powder.
  3. With the mixer running on low, add in warm water, melted butter, eggs, and sour cream until just combined.
  4. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and mix again until well combined and less lumpy.
  5. Once the dough is more smooth, using a large cookie scoop or spoon, evenly portion the dough in the muffin tin.
  6. Cover the muffin tin with greased plastic wrap and put in a warm place to rise for 45 minutes to an hour.
  7. While the rolls are rising, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  8. After the rolls are done rising, put them in the oven to bake for 22-25 minutes.
  9. Remove from the oven and brush with melted butter.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!! They are amazing!
